Hello Team,
Beginning on Monday, July 27th, Berg will require face masks when inside our buildings and on our job sites. The driving factor to making this decision is that the State of Minnesota mandated it effective July 25th. The easiest way to monitor the situation is to have everyone at Berg follow the same guidelines.
- When an employee is entering the building or job site and/or away from their desk, a face mask is required.
- All employees must wear a face cover when working within 6ft. of a co-worker or other individuals on the job-site.
- Face masks may be temporarily removed when an employee is working alone. For example, when in a closed office, a cubicle with walls above face height when social distancing is maintained, or another enclosed space with no other individuals present.
- Even if an employee has had COVID-19, they will need to wear a face mask. (It is still unknown if you can contract COVID-19 more than once).
- Berg will communicate face mask requirements by clearly posting signage in places that are visible to all workers, customers, and visitors.
- Please notify customers and visitors about face mask requirements while they are scheduling meetings, interviews, or placing orders for pickup.
If you cannot wear a face mask due to a medical condition, mental health condition, or disability, please reach out to Human Resources as soon as possible so accommodations can be made if possible. If an employee does not claim a legitimate exemption from face mask requirements (for example, due to a disability) and refuses to wear a face mask, please ask yourself “am I being the best team member and supporting” those around me who may have underlying health issues, caring for an elderly parent or just fearful of the unknown.
Tips for wearing face masks:
Wearing a face mask helps protect others in case you’re infected but don’t have symptoms. It is still important to keep 6 feet between people and to stay home when you are sick.
- Wash your hands before putting on your mask and after taking it off.
- Cover your nose and mouth with the mask snug against the sides of your face.
- If you touch your mask while on, wash your hands.
- Keep the mask on your face the whole time. Don’t put the mask around your neck or on your forehead.
- Wash your mask daily.
