COVID-19: Guidelines and helpful links

The health and safety of our employees and their families is our top priority especially going into this cold and flu season. We are following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Health (State specific), and local health authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be following the guidelines below during this time. Failure to comply with the policies outlined here may have an effect on your fellow coworkers, their families and our communities.

If you or anyone in your household is feeling any signs of illness, you must stay home. Let your Supervisor and HR know as soon as possible if you will be staying home, so that your workload can be managed and others are able to cover it in your absence.

Foreman/Sup: make sure your crew has your contact information.

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

Employees who come to work with symptoms of COVID-19 will be sent home immediately and not allowed to enter the building and/or job site.

Employees that cannot/not able to work from home may be eligible for Emergency Paid Sick Leave (EPSL) through the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). This provides paid time off for diagnosis of, care for, and recovery from COVID-19, in addition to any PTO or PSL provided by Berg.

Guidelines for returning to work:

If you have COVID-19 or COVID-19 symptoms, stay home until all three of these things are true (Unless advised by a health care provider that you can return to work):

  2. It has been 10 days, since you first felt sick.
  3. You have had no fever for at least 24 hours, without using medicine that lowers fevers.

People who were in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 need to stay home for 14 days even if they get a negative test result.
