Subpart R- Hoisting and Rigging

1926.753(c) General.

1926.753(c)(2) A qualified rigger (a rigger who is also a qualified person) shall inspect the rigging prior to each shift in accordance with § 1926.251.

HAZARD: Employees exposed to struck-by/falling load hazards.   

ABATEMENT: Rigging equipment MUST be taken out of service until it has been   inspected by a qualified rigger. 

1926.753(d) Working under loads.

1926.753(d)(2) When working under suspended loads, the following criteria shall be met:

1926.753(d)(2)(i) Materials being hoisted shall be rigged to prevent unintentional displacement;

HAZARD: Employees exposed to struck-by/falling load hazards.  

ABATEMENT: Materials being hoisted MUST be rigged to prevent unintentional   displacement.

NOTE: Steel I-Beam is not secured/rigged, it is resting on the wood.
