OSHA Subpart-E Eye and face protection.

1926.102(a) General.

1926.102(a)(1) The employer shall ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.

HAZARD: Employee exposed to eye/face injury hazards.

Abatement: The employer must ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation.

**Note: Employees are required to use a face-shield combined with an approved ANSI Z87 Safety glasses for all cutting, grinding and work tasks overhead that may expose them to falling or flying debris.  Personal prescription glasses cannot be worn in place of Z87 safety glasses.  Employees are responsible for their own safety and must ask for the appropriate PPE prior to beginning a task.  Employees must review the daily JHA or PTP to understand the specific risks associated with their task and utilize the appropriate safe guards to protect themselves and others from hazards.  Please ask your immediate supervisor or safety team member for the correct PPE for your task.  Employees not complying with Berg Group/Client PPE requirements on a continuous basis will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination.
